About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get to know people from all around the world.

ABOUT ME

Hello, I consider myself a laid back guy. I am currently doing my PhD... so my life typically consists of working during the day and chilling at night. I love music, I play the guitar although I'm not awesome at it, and I love going to shows. I am very passionate about becoming a professor one day. I believe that education is the best gift that can be given to anyone.

PHILOSOPHY

Never stop learning. Never stop being humble. Never stop meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started couchsurfing in September 2014. It's been awesome so far and I'm looking forward to doing it more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just surfed once, to Athens GA. It was an awesome experience, one of my favorite parts of my roadtrip around Georgia.

Interests

I really like learning new things. It doesn't matter if it's random words in a new language, a skill, or interesting facts about science. I am always looking for something new to learn.
I love music, reading although I don't do it as much lately because I read at work all day, jogging, and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly classical rock such as Led Zep, the Beatles and Pink Floyd. Also, I am a big White Stripes fan. There are a couple great new bands such as White Denim.

A couple years ago I used to read latin american novels all the time, anything from Cortazar, Benedetti and Garcia Marquez. I love Saramago and Kafka as well.

I don't consider myself a movie person, but two of my favorites are Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sometimes when I stop and think where my life started and where it is now I get surprised. I never imagined I would travel and live in different parts of the world and meet such diverse people. It's great that things rarely go according to plan!

Teach, Learn, Share

Earlier this year I went on a camping trip with a large group of people. The youngest person in the trip was an awesome 5 year old girl. I learned from her a bunch of things about crawfish, which she had learned in class. We were looking at the stars and I explained to her why we can see the milky way even though we are inside it, and why it looks like a line.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
