About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take over the world using just waders and butter

ABOUT ME

I'm more of a left wing liberal than Gandhi and the Dalai Lama, according to a political ideology test I did. This means there is a good possibility that if you come here with extreme right wing opinions you will get beaten about the head with a feather duster. You have been warned.

PHILOSOPHY

I am periodically depressed by the human condition but relentlessly chipper about the smaller things in life. Is that a philosophy? I think not. Ok...carpe diem!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have done nothing to help build this community, unless you count uploading a picture of me gurning and offering my couch to all manner of ne'er do wells. I only signed up an hour ago though, give me a break.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, except hearing about it from my dodgy, drunken Jock friend.

Interests

Binge reading, binge writing, binge eating and binge drinking. Moderation shows such a lack of imagination, don't you think? If you're going to do something, do it properly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of different films and music, it depends on my mood. I eat books, and love all different kinds, particularly (but by no means limited to) Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Marquez, (some) Coelho, Orwell, Forster, Kerouac, Hemingway and tons more. I also like non-fiction books, particularly things like No Logo and The Shock Doctrine, and also history books. I'm currently reading Mussolini's Italy...know your enemy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with the dolphins.
Ha! As if!
Copped off with the village idiot and almost got taken out by the local area heavies in the same weekend.
I blame it on the boogie.

Teach, Learn, Share

Erm.
Occasionally in Italy, you find toilets in the floor, which require you to squat over them and aim. This may be a bit of an experience the first time you encounter one.
