About Me

Once upon a time there was a boy, who couldn't sit in one place, because of his curiosity about the world. And when he grew up, he started to explore this world - on foot, by bike, by train, by plane, and by car - especially by hitch-hiking.

He also got very interested in music, so he started to learn to play the guitar, and then to play the bass, and then the contrabass... All the time being a big music-lover, and exploring more and more new genres.

And finally when he grew up, and took up French at the university (apart from English, that he already knew quite well), he discovered in himself also a significant interest languages in general...

So this is me. Travelling and wandering through mountains whenever I can, playing in a few bands, learning languages, and... dreaming of going to Africa (that's why I wanted to learn French, seriously)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I belive that I can learn more about a country and its people by exploring it from the inside and watching it through the windows of an ordinary house or flat rather than of a hotel's room. This is my idea of travelling in general. Of course I do sleep in hostels or at campings as well, but I definitely prefer to travel close to so-called "normal life".

I've already experienced that it works and that it's a very interesting way of travelling, and generally meeting new people. I've hosted some friends from different parts of the world, and also I've visited some of them. But the more I learn about the world, the more things I see which are still unknown and waiting to be discovered! That's why I want to intensify my journeys and adventures by joining the Couchsurfing community :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Ok, that's a bit difficult. I listen to too many different kinds of music: from reggae to various kinds of metal, from classical to jazz, together with some amounts of elctronical ambient, hip hop and rap from time to time, not to mention blues, pop or rock in general...

But when it comes to movies, some of my favourite are: Truman Show, Cast Away, Forrest Gump, or Into the Wild...

And among the books I have some forever number ones, like "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley or "Ferdyfurke" by Witold Gombrowicz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went for a lunch with two poor boys who asked me in the street for some money. From many different things that I did in my life this was one of the most difficult (I mean to go with them and ask them about their life, etc, instead of only giving the money and getting rid of them), but also the most satisfying things to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am ready to share some experience from my travels, as well as some skills, e.g. guitar playing (or bass guitar as well). I can also teach you some Polish if you want (as well as English or French, or - what is probably less interesting for you :P - the Silesian dialect).

For I am very much interested in languages, I'd love to learn yours (whatever language it is :P ), but I'd be also very happy to learn anything from you, and to listen and see how you live, and what does your everyday life look like. Not to mention tasting your local cuisine or listening to some music from your country ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you decide to host me, be ready for an interesting conversation. I'm always ready I to tell you a little bit about my country, and about my life in general. If you want, I can even teach you some Polish ;) What is more, if you happen to be a musician, or at least to have some musical instruments at your place, I'll be glad to play and sing with you. And of course, you're always welcome in Poland!
