Informazioni generali
Chi sono
Hi I'm Mackenzie and I'm an Aussie, Floridian now living in Paris, France! I'm 20 years old and I was born in Australia and lived there for 6 years before moving to the states with my family. After 13 years of living in Cocoa Beach, Florida I decided to pick everything up and move to France to learn about the culture and language as an au pair!
Basically me in a sentence: “expert at making sketchy decisions and not getting murdered” 🤙🏼
My philosophy is basically everything happens for a reason. I have lived by this my entire life and I’ve met so many amazing people and done so many amazing things so far by just taking chances and going with my gut instinct.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
I decided to join couch surfing because I love to meet people and discover new things! I love to solo travel (and only really travel alone because it’s more convenient) and couch surfing gives me the ability to connect to others while still traveling by myself.
Interessi
I love doing just about anything. I love to be outside and hike, read, draw, paint and I love to make connections with people all around the world and listen to their stories. Also am obsessed with listening to everyone’s love stories (aka hopeless romantic).

Musica, film e libri
I love the Lumineers (I know its cliche for a traveler) and pretty much anything indie. I also figured out I love French rap songs as well this year! Angele and Columbine are my favorites so far.
I love all Tarantino movies especially pulp fiction and cheesy rom com movies that make anyone cry haha.
My favorite book is “to Kill a Mockingbird” and my current obsession is Ernest Hemingway’s “A Moveable Feast” and “A Thousand Splendid Suns.”
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
The most recent ‘amazing’ thing I’ve done is decide to take the next bus out of Paris to anywhere! I ended up running in the rain, talking to several people trying to buy a ticket, then talking to the driver of a bus going to Copenhagen and I ended up getting the last seat! I had no accommodation or plans once I arrived and thankfully I had an amazing CS host and friends to stay with. I’m so grateful I listened to my gut and took a chance to just shut up and go!
In my picture of me on top of a mountain in the French Alps, I climbed that with my au pair mom then found out that it was a summer trail and someone just died on it a week before. Sooo I’m happy I climbed it and am still alive to tell the tale 😂
I also traveled to the outback with my family for my graduation present. Looking up at the night sky and seeing the milky way from horizon to horizon and shooting stars every 5 minutes was a dream come true and I’m incredibly grateful to have experienced that.

I love to teach so I can help you with your English and I also love to talk about traveling and life.
My Au Pair kid tells me that I’m the best cook and I also baked some banana bread for my CS host in Denmark so I can make you a decent meal at least haha!
