About Me

I'm curious, outgoing, and passionate about whatever I'm doing. I've had a few career changes within the field of environmental engineering. I've got strong opinions, though I strive to keep them well-informed.

I love being alive and I will be the best man I possibly can. I will take love wherever I find it and offer it to everyone who will take it; Seek knowledge from those wiser, and teach those who wish to learn from me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of music. I can't get enough of Sturgill Simpson's "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music". My preferences tend to shift every few months, but there are a few mainstays - Otis Redding is one. Radiohead is another. The Beatles too, of course (my favorite album is Rubber Soul). I listen to a lot of different music depending on my mood... I read a good bit, but it consists mostly of news international affairs. It's difficult to keep up with the Economist, Foreign Policy, and Foreign Affairs and it leaves me with little time to read much else. I don't read fiction often, but not because I don't like it. My favorites are Tom Wolfe, Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins... I like movies. Some more than others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen people change for the better; I've seen people realize their own empowerment; I've seen people work hard and reach their goals. Amazing, every time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a very curious person. I'm interested in the meaningful ways in which people choose to spend their time. I want to be around people that are passionate about something. Some things I'm into and not awful at: General handiwork (plumbing, electrical, woodwork, etc), civil and environmental engineering stuff, vehicle mechanics, I have some knowledge on small engines and specifically older motorcycles. My work and research is focused on low-cost water supply and I've got experience with some really interesting and simple technologies. I'm becoming increasing interested in agriculture and irrigation. I'm also very interested in history, economics, governance, and international relations.
