About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In general, my mission is to learn more about myself and what is important in life. And to learn how to live more slowly!

I also work towards achieving work-life balance - to be able to travel, dance, meet friend and have fun despite the everyday work routine.

ABOUT ME

Let's look at it form different angles. First, the easiest - my job. I used to work for a long time in a business incubator, where we helped start-ups to grow. I liked this vibrant and lively atmosphere of meeting people with extraordinary ideas, passionate about what they do. These are the people you meet during travels too!

A bit harder - my hobbies. I am a man who loves to be on the move. That's why I travel, do sports (track and field, triathlon and skiing) and love to dance (jazz dances!).

And the hardest - my values. I am a social person and for me my family and friends are very important. The other people - that's what we should care about!

PHILOSOPHY

Well, it is a hard question for a philosopher! What to choose? I would go for a Henri Bergon's idea of elan vital and Zorba the Greek's approval of the simple life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My family house have always been open for guests, not only those from CS, but it is not about people from and outside the CS, isn't it? It's important to meet new people and share your life with them. That's what I was thought.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have already been surfing with CS in Portugal, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Turkey, Iran, India, China and perhaps some other places. All my experiences were really positive.

I have also hosted some really cool people.

Interests

philosophy (mainly postmodernism and philosophical anthropology), boardgames, triathlon and track and field, art, travel, modern history (mostly decolonization period)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: currently I'm into the sung poetry and actors' interpretations of songs. I also like old rock (Bob Dylan, King Crimson) and some popular music.

Books: the three books that are the most important ones for me are: "Zorba the Greek", "Tortilla Flat" and "Cat's Cradle". I am also a big fan of Richard Kapuscinski (Polish reporter writing about modern history) and for the educational reasons also Plato.

Movies: my favorite director is Xavier Dolan, there is something in his movies that moves me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked all the way from Beijing in China to my hometown in Poland!

Teach, Learn, Share

What I would like to experience in CouchSurfing is the plenitude of diffetrent perspectives that people represent. As a follower of postmodernism philosophy, I believe that plurality of points of view is valuable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positive energy, good spirit, some philosophical insights, and if you are into business - stories and advice from the start-up world.

I also like to dance, so can show you the basics of the Lindy Hop!
