ABOUT ME

A warm, friendly... subtly geeky character. Very self-sufficient, and courteous, but sometimes unaware of how my communication and sense of humor comes across, so generally quiet unless I am in equally warm company. Coming back to this site after many years away. I've found my forever partner, Vivian who is delightful, warm, and loves socializing.

PHILOSOPHY

In my values hierarchy, "Fairness" is somewhere very close to the top. I treat people fairly and hope to get the same in return. When I see someone being treated unfairly, my dander goes up, and I feel like running to their defense. I feel that if we are to survive as a global community, we need to practice local generosity of spirit.

兴趣

I'm an IT professional who moonlights as a hypnotherapist. I do insane endurance events. Insane NOT because other people find it so challenging, but because my only qualification for doing them is I'm too stubborn to not do it after I've decided that I'd like to. To date: a couple of ultra marathons, a hike across California, and a couple of hikes around San Francisco Bay.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The North Face Endurance Challenge, 50 Mile (80.5km) ultramarathon. I'm NOT much of a runner (I've probably run 12 miles total this entire year). I just decided one day that I would do that, and I did. It took nearly 11 hours.
