About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore New Zealand in the most local and un touristic way and meet new people friends.
ABOUT ME
I am an 18 year old traveling and working, volunteering around the world as part of my gap year. I was born in the US but have lived most of my life in Colombia, which I love. I am going to study business administration and hope to create my own business some day. This year I have already worked at a newspaper as a substitute for the international page editor for a month, a beer production plant for 5 months in Idaho, US, also went on a monthlong seakayaking expedition in Alaska, spent a month in Thailand and now plan to finish it off with a couple months of WOOFing, volunteering and getting to know New Zealand while couchsurfing. I do not smoke or do drugs or anything like that. I do not like people who do drugs, especially cocaine, because when they consume they are helping create more violence and terror in Colombia and the world.
PHILOSOPHY
Many people like to say that they live their lives at the moment, in the present. I think I live my life more in the future, always dreaming and preparing for the next great things life has to offer. (I hope that didn't sound to much like a hippy, but it's just the way it is). In other words, one of the main things that give meaning to my life, along with my family and people I meet, are projects, dreams, and the feeling that every day I am growing towards becoming a more complete person.
It is also impossible for me to get bored. There is always something to do, or learn, or think about and reflect, it doesn't matter if you are stuck inside a box. Whenever I find myself falling into 'boredom', I welcome it as a time to think and reflect. Many of the most creative people in the world came up with their greatest ideas while being 'bored'.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most music, but what I love to hear the most is electronica, trance, dance and classical music. To me a good movie is one which I enjoy and leaves me thinking about it a lot after watching it. That doesn't mean I don't like to watch trashy comedies and blockbusters though. And in books, I prefer to read non fiction books on interesting and useful subjects, but every now and then I stumble upon a good novel like 100 years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez or The Process by Kafka. Because my family is in the newspaper business, I like to read the news every day.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on a monthlong seakayaking expedition in the Alaskan wilderness.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a native speaker of both English and Spanish, and I have a musical high school degree and have played the piano for 10 years, if you are interested in learning. I like to learn more about cooking. I work out often, so you can join me in my exercise routines too. I like to learn as much as I can about everything; your job, your language, your culture, your city, your way of life.
