About Me

**Fully Vaccinated traveler!**

Hi there! ¿Qué tal?

My name is Maddie and I just finished a year in Spain teaching English, so now I’m running through Europe for 6 weeks! I’m from the United States and just graduated college last year with a bachelors in biology. Estudié español durante el tiempo en la universidad, y me encantaría conocer tu historia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m traveling through Spain and parts of Europe this summer and trying to make as many friends and memories as possible!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: pop, American classic rock, and indie
(Check out Jeremy Zucker, or Kim Petras, I love them)

Movies: None really haha. My friends will tell you that I’m the WORST at pop culture. What can I say! I spend most of my time outside 😉 I loved La Casa de Papel though!

Books: nonfiction science and travelers’ stories

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Managed to get a TIE from the Spanish government as a foreigner. The Spaniards and their paperwork, man.

Hiking rim to rim (and back!) in the Grand Canyon

Glissaded down the side of Mt. Rainier (sledding but on your booty in slick pants) from Camp Muir

I drove, not once, not twice, but three times across the United States to the west coast from Ohio. (~37 hours one way, don’t worry I liked my road trip buddies)

I was accidentally locked in a previous Couchsurfing host’s apartment for 8 hours while they were at work (it was more funny than anything, no harm done!)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: English! That’s what I set out to do in Spain with NALCAP (North American Language and Cultural Assistant Program). I’m beyond comfortable with English as a Second Language (ESL) learners and will help you (or just listen) as long as you’d like.

Orrrrrr we could skip the formalities and I could show you how to (very basically and maybe not too perfectly) juggle :)

Learn: Bachata, local cooking tips and tricks

Share: snacks!! Always share the goodies.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to help cook, bake, or dance in the kitchen with (or for) you. Out to share my joy for life!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, United States
