About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get to know all kind of great people and see this beautiful world!
ABOUT ME
Hi friends--I am an adventurous and loving human who appreciates people from all walks of life. I graduated from Whitman College in 2013 with a major in Race and Ethnic Studies (with a focus in gender studies). After school I went on a cross-country road trip! I saw so much of this wonderful country and met some amazing people who graciously hosted me while couchsurfing. I just finished up an AmeriCorps term and am about to sell out to the man with a job in sales...going on a road trip to the Grand Canyon for one last hurrah!
PHILOSOPHY
I think every human should be appreciated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sharing my home with others and hoping that, in turn, I can stay with some lovely people--and cook you some tasty food! (/bring you some tasty beer or wine)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started my couchsurfing exerpience by hosting a wonderful woman in Walla Walla after college. It was such a wonderful experience and we were able to meet up again this last summer for drinks! I love the connections that couch surfing facilitates. During the 3.5 months on my cross-country road trip I stayed with some incredible and gracious human beings who hosted me and showed me a great time!
Interests
Racial and gender equality, hiking, eating, running, exploring, meeting, learning. I love bustling city streets almost as much as I love downtime in the backcountry. If you made me pick my top 3 fave things...they'd probably be, in no particular order: social justice, music, nature. I love fighting for equality!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) One evening in Israel my school (Tel Aviv University) took the international students on a trip to Eilat in southern Israel. That night they took us on a boat on the Red Sea. At one point the captain notified us that in the distance we could see the lights of four countries all at once: Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. That moment really struck me. It was incredible to conceptualize the social, political and racial conflicts that were happening then and there. At that moment I felt separated and so very small. Although it is hard to recognize our impermanence, it is also beautiful to be able to appreciate that the world has allowed me to exist and be a part of its beautiful and mysterious journey.
2) When I was 16 I went on a 10-day backpacking and rock climbing trip through Outward Bound. I had signed up of my own volition but was dreading 10 days without a shower. Our 6th day was spent backpacking with 45-pound packs on our backs for 16 miles, the last of which was up the side of a small mountain in the pitch dark. It was the hardest I have ever worked in my life and after setting up camp, I immediately fell asleep in exhaustion. We woke up the next morning with the sun and although I was pretty peeved that we had to get up so early, I have never felt so accomplished and rewarded as I did during that sunrise--it was the moment I fell in love with nature.
