I'm Maddy, I'm 28, and I quit my job last summer to embark on a year-long backpacking trip across the world. From the UK to Canada to Australia (and a lot of stops in between!).

I'm pretty easygoing, I love meeting new people, exploring new places, listening to music, reading, cooking homemade meals, and trying to keep fit.

I have loved to travel ever since I started going on family holidays at a young age. When I was 19, I spent a month interrailing across Europe and had been longing for another opportunity to do a big trip ever since. Now, my dream is a reality, and I can't believe it!

When I return from my travels, I hope to be able to open my home up and host other travellers when they come to Scotland.

I am on couchsurfing because I am currently backpacking around the world for ∼ 1 year with my boyfriend. We are excited to enjoy new cultures, cuisines and experiences, all while meeting lots of interesting people! We have been on the road since September 2022. So far we have visited Canada, USA, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Brazil, Colombia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
