Overview
About Me
I am a recent college graduate in Urban Planning, interested in the way today's issues play out on the scale of a city! I am interested in working on issues of public space and parks in cities. I like to spend time outside, draw, paint, and read. I moved to New York City for college about four years ago, but I grew up in Portland, Oregon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am traveling on my own in Europe a bit, doing workaways and being a tourist and would like to meet local people who can tell me about their home! Maybe in the future I will be able to host my hosts in NYC! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
My favorite books of all time are A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. Recently I read and really liked The Idiot by Elif Batuman and I Was Supposed to Protect You From All This by Nadja Spiegelman. I read a lot, mostly novels, and am interested in any recommendations!
Movies:
I have been seeing a lot of movies recently! I don't know a lot about film or anything but I enjoy a great story. I recently saw a Russian movie called Closeness that I thought was amazing, as well as a German movie called Western. Other movies I liked that came out this year were: A Fantastic Woman, Call Me By Your Name, Black Panther, and Ladybird. Movies not from this year that I like or enjoyed growing up are Ghostbusters, the Life Aquatic, and Sound of Music.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy cooking and would love to make a meal together, share conversation, and learn about each others' lives! Also I would like to leave you with a book if I finish a book during my visit with you!
