About Me

I grew up in Mexico and was born into a multi-cultural family. Both my parents being foreigners in Mexico (one French, the other American), I've found that home is not a matter of cirumstances, but rather something you make for yourself.
Once I finished highschool, I set off to Paris for university where I lived for 4 and a half years. I had the chance of living in Aberdeen for six months (the city where buildings match the sky). And now, finally, I've moved to India for two years as a part of my PhD, and, well, here I am!

PHILOSOPHY:

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I made an account because I'm tired of visiting places from the tourist perspective, since what I generally love most about travelling is meeting people and gaining insight on their lifestyles and how they see the city they live in.

Interests

I love debating about the creation of a sustainable future, the vices of our current lifestyle (both socially and environmentally), and possible outcomes of our behavior.

I really love the seemingly random way nature functions, and trying to decipher how it really works in order to further my curiosity and possibly be useful in some way.

Also, I will doodle on anything that can be written on if I have a pen in my hand.

And finally, this may sound cheesy, but I enjoy almost any activity if it's with the right people.

  • environment
  • social science
  • women's rights
  • sustainability issues

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy dystopian fiction (Orwell, Huxley...). We are born into a system anchored into every aspect of our lives, and our brains mould into a pattern and lifestyle that has been set long before us. Trying to understand the status quo, and questioning the surreal aspects of our society is something that really tickles my pickle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Over the summer I developed a project with a group of friends, in which we created an off-grid low-cost greenhouse that runs solely on salt-water or polluted water through solar powered distillation. I'm pretty proud of that one.

Moving away from home at 17 to create a new life for myself thousands of kilometres away from my friends and family was also quite challenging at first.

But, of course, the most amazing adventures have yet to come :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good laugh, uninhibited conversations and very bad jokes.
A kick ass vegetarian meal.
Overall clowning around.
