About Me

Hi! I'm Madeleine, I'm from Leipzig (Germany) and if you're reading this profile, I'm probably getting to know the world somewhere. I love traveling on my own, I've had an amazing trip through Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras just on myself, living in my tent, in 2019. In total I've lived 2 years in Guadalajara, Mexico, so I'm fluid in Spanish and I really lost my heart to this place.
Whatever, about my life in Germany: I've studied sports science and am really into this field. I dance, run, swim, ski, climb mountains, bike, do yoga...every minute I can. I especially like doing sports outside, enjoying nature and somewhat the quietness and peace nature gives me then. I'm currently still studying medicine. My career is kind of a (beautiful) mess, I'm just telling you this so you know which fields I'm into and that I am working late hours usually in my life in Leipzig.
I'm currently also working on my PhD about stigmatization of depression and schizophrenia. While traveling, this has already opened up great discussions about mental health care in the different countries - I'm down to get into the details with you guys!!

Another thing about me: while traveling in Lateinamerica I became an activist: I have a podcast (check it out, "Heile Welt Podcast" on Spotify or every other podcast app you'd like to use) where we speak about health related, political or ethical issues. I think the most I fight for gender equality and gender sensitivity in medicine. Speaking more about my life I try and avoid climate-damaging things, I'm vegetarian/vegan, avoid plastics, use shared rides or public transport. There is still much much to do and I absolutely have to learn so much more about all these political issues, so lets dive into it and have some debates if you're up to the same issues!
