About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have the best damn honeymoon ever! We just had a small, beautiful wedding and are now traveling through Europe for six months and are excited to meet new people and enjoy ourselves immensely.

NOTE: We realise that Israel is a problematic country, but we are pro-Palestine and left wing, please don't judge us because of the government.

ABOUT US

Madeleine is a professional costume maker who grew up mostly in New York and California and has been living in Tel Aviv for the last two and a half years. She is obsessed with all things costume (and will be heartbroken to be traveling without her usual baggage of too many fun things to wear) and loves all aspects of making them. She has been deeply involved in the burner community for several years and loves to work on making art, creating beautiful spaces and of course, helping people look amazing. She has been in love with theatre since she was young and has a particular affection for dramatic musicals and Shakespeare. She hopes to see all kinds of performance art while traveling, from street theatre to opera.

Itai is a sound editor for film. He has been heavily involved in the Midburn community for the past four years. He has led a department of volunteer builders out in the desert very successfully in the last few years. He loves movies and working in the film industry. He makes a damn fine creme brulee and will eat crepes and pancakes any chance he's given. He's a great storyteller and has the deepest voice in the room (usually). He loves the art of nonsense.

We are happy to just take a couch in a place but we are also excited by meeting new people and if you are a host who likes to show people your city, we would love to have your guidance. We are also interested in community living where we can participate and volunteer. Our plans are completely flexible, so if you know of a wonderful time to be in your city, or local adventures or events we would love to hear them, and build our plans to fit.

MADELEINE'S PHILOSOPHY

Forget less is more - more is more.

ITAI'S PHILOSOPHY

Worry a lot and have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, just surfing. Someday when we have settled down again we would love to open our home to others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have not used this site very much but we have hosted many unusual people in the homes we have lived and we have certainly rested our heads on many a couch, pillow, yoga mat, yurt, cuddle puddle, tent, etc. We are easily adaptable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three years in a row we have been volunteers and helped to build a temporary city that is also the largest art festival in Israel.

Teach, Learn, Share

Madeleine can teach you the basics of sewing, chainmailling and pirating. She is always eager to learn more crafting and creation. She can also introduce you to the very best musicals out there and discuss shakespeare on end.

Itai can teach how to make delicious dishes like shakshuka, hummus and creme brulee. He is also adept in building for festivals and events, and would like to learn more in woodworking. He is also able to help in most sound related issues.
