About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have bountiful excess of my favourite 3 things - Music, Adventure, Friendships. To live abundantly.

ABOUT ME

For me, it's all about the joy. Music, going to markets, galleries, or just kicking back with some beers and a jam on the back deck. Quiet times, sharing good food, good wine, good conversation!

PHILOSOPHY

To squeeze the juice out of life, every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined when I went to San Francisco, and although I didn't surf there I did host a few surfers at my house when I got back. I'm now living in a share house that is too small to host surfers - sorry! But I'm going to the states soon and would like to do some couchsurfing in LA/NYC.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've always crashed on the couch of friends, or friends of friends, whilst travelling. It's a great way to get a REAL feel of a place. Similarly, I'm proud to host touring musicians and show them the sights of Brisbane that I'm most proud of.

Interests

Music (listening/writing/playing). Good food, good wine, good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm big into jazz and soul (Al Green, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Aretha, Solomon Burke). I also love 60s/70s vintage folk/pop like Paul Simon, Fleedwood Mac, Van Morrison. Also new indie folk Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Feist etc.

LOVE films. Eternal Sunshine, Memento, I Heart Huckabees, anything Wes Anderson.

My fave author is Tom Robbins. Just finished "Norweigan Wood" by Haruki Murakami which was great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gosh..so many.. seeing Paul Simon, my favourite musician in concert was pretty amazing. I've flown into the Grand Canyon in a helicopter, hopped around the Greek Islands, been to the San Sebastian film festival in Spain and enjoyed Disneyland in Cali & Paris (I love rollercoasters).

Teach, Learn, Share

Make the effort to make every day special. If you've got some spare time, don't watch TV - go to a nearby lookout and watch the sunset, or pack up some food & wine and take your friend on a picnic. Cook a roast for your housemates, or go to a park and drink wine from the bottle. Golden moments are everywhere, you just have to make them happen.
