About Me

Hi! I'm Maddie and I'm going to be studying in the southern part of Switzerland for the next three and a half years. I am originally from Wisconsin in the states, but so far I am loving living in Europe. I love to explore, travel to new places, and make new friends! I am studying communications and international relations at Uni, where I spend a lot of time outside, playing music, and hanging out with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because it's a great way to meet people while traveling! I've had so many great experiences making new friends while traveling and I think that this is a perfect way to get to know people in different places around the world.

Interests

My number one passion is music. I play the piano, violin, ukulele, and a little bit of guitar and I love to hang out and sing with my friends. I also love being outside! Hiking, walking, and just enjoying beautiful nature is super fun to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I travelled to Malawi, Africa with my family to volunteer at an orphanage for a couple weeks. My favorite day of the whole trip was when we got to hand out shoes to all of the little kids at the orphanage. Toward the end, we started running out of shoes to give the older kids who had bigger feet. I literally took the shoes off my feet and gave them to an older boy and it was one of the most inspiring moments of my life.
