Über mich
Hello!
I'm currently living in Montreal, just trying to enjoy life. I finished my undergrad last spring and have been trying to travel as much as possible since. A part from little trips here and there, I spent last summer aupairing in Italy. I work in a restaurant and love enjoying good food and wine with friends.
I'm a positive and friendly person, pretty outgoing once you get to know me. I am planning on going into education, teaching elementary school. Before I finish my bachelor's of education, I'm trying to see as much of the world as I can and experience other cultures so that I can improve my capacity as an open and engaging teacher.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I think that this is a great tool to meet locals while travelling. I feel that people often forget that while travelling, the goal isn't necessarily to see all the sights and go home. The ideal, in my opinion, is to experience a different culture, along with it's language, cuisine, arts, etc, and to learn from it. I think that couchsurfing's mission lends itself to this idea, an idea with a cultural exchange as its basis. Travelling with a goal of cultural exchange is very important to me. And I love meeting new people!
Interessen
I love to read, mainly historical novels, but I will pretty much read anything. Lately, I've jumped on the colouring bandwagon and have been enjoying that as well. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking in the forest or walking on the beach. I'm starting to miss my hometown for that! I've played hockey for the last 11 years and hope to keep it up for the majority of my life.
I also love to spend time in the kitchen, mostly baking. I use all my friends' birthdays as excuses to make cakes.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I'll admit, I'm not the most musically inclined. That being said, there isn't a lot of music that I don't enjoy. I generally lean towards the more indie stuff, with a little 90's thrown in for good measure. Anything by No Doubt and you've got me.
As for books, I have a hard time pairing things down. There's just so much out there! Some of my favorites authors are Ann-Marie MacDonald, Anita Shreve and Abraham Verghese.
Movie wise, I'm more of a TV person. Some of my favourite shows include Law & Order:SVU, The Good Wife, Game of Thrones and Broad City. Movies are great, but I could never understand watching a movie more than once. Recently, I just watched The Revenant and thought it was amazing. It was like a good book that you can't put down, but don't want to end.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I don't know about doing something amazing, but something that made me feel amazing was my trip to Italy last summer. I spent two months aupairing and one month travelling with my boyfriend. It was an amazing three months!
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
My love and appreciation for good food and wine. My curiosity to learn and experience new things. A good mood and hopefully some great laughs. Some pretty great baking, my chocolate chip cookies are an absolute favorite among friends and family.
