Overview
About Me
My friend once told me that in a world of realists and idealists, I’m a "fascinist." I love this world (we are so, so lucky to live here) and I am completely fascinated by almost everything; consumed by curiosity and wanderlust, it’s hard not to be that way! You’re pretty likely to hear me gushing about anything and everything, from fractals to bulgogi to the wonder of human communication.
I like to ask questions, and I love asking the questions that can’t be answered. Are there multiple universes? Can humans ever truly have a net positive effect on the world? (The latter is my current existential crisis.) I also love rock climbing, playing my guitar, ukulele, and piano, reading in the sun, airports, Vietnamese food, learning languages, taking photos, and exploring.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like I said before, I’m in love with the world, and I want to know every inch of it. I've spent the past three years traveling the world and meeting interesting people. It's important to me to learn from and trust others, and Couchsurfing is an incredible way to get to know people from all over. I hope to make connections as I surf and host!
Interests
I am an avid reader, probably because I'm addicted to learning as much as possible. If you're looking for someone to debate with, I'm very good at playing the devil's advocate, as well as listening. I am studying oppression's effects on culture, which encompasses philosophy, human rights, art history, gender studies – basically, you name it, it's relevant. I also love to be outdoors, try new food, and generally just do new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a wide-ranging music taste that includes artists like Amadou et Mariam as well as Kendrick Lamar, Vulfpeck, Hiatus Kaiyote, Mac Demarco, Frankie Cosmos, and many many more. My all-time favorite author is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, followed closely by Haruki Murakami. I am currently reading Noam Chomsky's most recent book. I'm not big on movies, but my favorites are probably Frida, Forrest Gump, and Casablanca.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have gone swimming in water with phosphorescent algae under the starriest sky I have ever seen.
Teach, Learn, Share
Willing to teach Spanish or English, very basic Japanese, basic guitar, ukulele, and piano, how to do the haka. Willing to learn anything but always looking to practice Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories of my many strange and wonderful experiences abroad, and provide pleasant company.
