About Me
Hello! We're Madeline and Taylor, and we're most likely looking for a place to stay.
I grew up in Houston and was living in Austin, Texas when I met Taylor and was whisked away to the rest of the world. Taylor grew up in Edmonton, Alberta and has been travelling nearly non-stop for six years. In our time together, we have visited over thirty US states and six countries, and got married somewhere along the way.
We're pretty much always on the move. We own a small jewelry business that we tour around with, but we have put that on temporary hold as we expand our joint travels into Europe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We're looking for authentic experiences with authentic people, a chance to hop off the tourist trail, a peek into someone's life, to gain a more intimate understanding of our surroundings.

Music, Movies, and Books
To begin to narrow it all down would be near impossible, but we'd be happy to talk (and talk and talk) about all with you, and hear your side of things too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We hiked up a cliffside in the Himalayas. It was quite steep and took four or five hours. A mangy little dog found us near the beginning and climbed the whole way with us, waiting around as we struggled. We called him Rufus. We found a medieval Tibetan tea house to sleep in at the top and ordered dinner - extra potatoes. After eating, we walked out to this stupa which overlooked the valley from where we came. Rufus was there. We fed him the potatoes. He seemed to be very grateful. We sat with Rufus, our legs hanging over the cliff as the sun set, and noticed the clouds beginning to rise up from the valley. They grew and grew until we were completely surrounded. Our vision was obscured and too many "head in the clouds" jokes were made, but we remained there, in the clouds, until it became too dark and too cold and it was time to say goodnight to Rufus.
