About Me
ABOUT ME
I've been based in Athens, GA for five years now. I'm very involved with the local arts scene here and enjoy exploring the artistic networks in new towns. I absolutely love my dogs Toby and Brody, both labs. I carry a small set of watercolor paints and a journal with me everywhere I go, and I love to sketch the views on hikes. At home, I make cyanotypes (sun prints) of veggies from local gardens. A lifelong musician, my fingers and toes are always tapping. I was made to move, to travel, to breathe in the fresh air. I'm happiest outdoors and out of my comfort zone, though I'm equally happy in the library, surrounded by books that can show me things I've never seen!
I am tidy, respectful of space, and definitely appreciate a good night's sleep. I really enjoy cooking, too! I would love to cook up a good vegetarian (or a bit of fish is okay) meal for you. I love dogs and am super easy going with all animals. I am comfortable with inference in a new city, but would love to get to know you on the road!
I am crazy about my job on the tour/serving staff at Creature Comforts Brewing Co. in Athens, GA and would be super psyched to do some bottle sharing on my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books
Current musical favorites are Beach House, Debussy and Snarky Puppy.
I love documentaries about other cultures or environmental conservation. I also enjoy Pixar flicks and anything with a good musical score.
I really enjoy contemporary nonfiction books that are rooted in interdisciplinary observations of the world. Bruce Lipton's The Biology of Belief and anything by E.O. Wilson is good news to me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Cape Town, South Africa for five weeks of the summer when I was 19. My group and I climbed Table Mountain on the first morning after we arrived, and we met a guy up top who was about our age. He was playing a small marimba, which is my favorite instrument to play, and I sat by him while he played. We got to talking, and he told me that he climbs the mountain every day with his marimba in order to make enough tips to go back to school. We discussed the importance of education and the value of musical expression for what felt like an hour. It was a big, slow moment for me that I still reflect on from time to time. I went back to my university that fall feeling a great deal of gratitude and renewed appreciation for the soul power of music.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Beer and art! Also, I'm a good buddy for biking or hiking, and I'm always down for a pickup soccer game or spontaneous hiking/camping trips.
