About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My new year's resolution is to quit being so afraid of new experiences! I received a federal grant to study in New Zealand from February to March 2015 and I am going to make the most of it!
ABOUT ME
I am a Native American, lady-identified student at The Evergreen State College studying Native American studies and public policy. Social justice is incredibly important to me and pretty much at the center of all I do. I find vitality in my cultural community and in being of service to those about me. Indigenous issues are of particular importance to me. I'm super queer friendly. I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs out of personal preference but am pretty cool with other people doing those things as long as ya'll don't make it weird, haha. I'm pretty easy going but great at maintaining boundaries and personal space within shared living and have no problem with direct communication. Things I find very important when staying on someone's couch! Oh also, I absolutely love, love, love animals especially those of the canine variety. If you have any questions for me, please don't hesitate to ask!
PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I'm planning an extended trip out of the country so am currently looking to participate as a couchsurfer but perhaps if my experience is positive, I'll open my couch up to others in the future!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Totally inexperienced. Guess I'll see how it goes!

Movies: American Psycho, Lady Vengeance, Black Swan. Horror/psychological thrillers are generally my style.
Books: The New Jim Crow, 1984, The Inconvenient Indian, Siddhartha
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lobbying federal legislators in Washington D.C. was pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a variety of crafts like beading and sewing that I would be happy to teach. I also have a pretty extensive knowledge of Native American history and contemporary issues. Part of my purpose in New Zealand is to examine the cross-cultural connections so sharing these things would bring me great joy!
What I Can Share with Hosts
See above! And I can cook a bunch of traditional Native American foods. And you know other stuff, too, haha.
