About Me

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Namibia. I currently live in Highland, Indiana and work on the South Side of Chicago. We live in a small duplex that is very close to the bike trail and a cute indie coffee shop.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used this app when I was in the Peace Corps in Nambia and I would like to start using it again.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy all types of music. Lately I am enjoying a combination of Halsey and Led Zepplin. I'm sure tomorrow it will be something new. I also have a love for classical music. I enjoy sitting down with a cup of tea and relaxing to the beautiful sounds of violins, a piano, or even a symphony. I would love to hear new music from around the world, if you have anything new to show me.

When it comes to movies, I will watch just about anything, depending on my mood. I have a deep love for Harry potter and Lord of the Rings. When I need inspiration, I will watch Legally Blonde (anyone who says that movie isn't inspirational is kidding themselves). I am also a big fan of any Marvel movie.

I love to read! Mostly I read fictional or fantasy novels aimed at young adults, such as The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, etc. I also love The Hobbit. I have a deep interest in Greek Mythology, though I do not claim to be any expert. One of my favorite books is The Song of Achilles, though I know it is a historical fiction. Lastly, I really enjoy historical fictions about British monarchs from the past. I know that is super random, but I find the English monarchy to be fascinating. I have been reading the Cousin's War series by Phillipa Gregory whenever I can get my hands on one of her books. I have already read the White Princess and the Kingmaker's Daughter. I hope to read more soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia which was a seriously lifechanging experience.
