About Me

Current mission: cycle across America :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a couch, floor, tent and backyard to offer in East Oakland near the beautiful lake Merrit. We live in a beautiful historic building that has a full bar and music area downstairs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed just a little and hosted all the dirtbags form Yosemite far and wide. The community of wanders find there way here at one point or another and all are welcome.

Interests

I am widely interested in life. I love the outdoors and grew up on an organic self sufficient farm in the Appalachian mountains, lived a time in Tokyo and everywhere in between. I am an avid rock climber, painter, dabble in music, and am trying to pick up stone masonry. I spend my time working with children with special needs and waiting tables late into the night. I am always down for a new adventure, which has brought me to some unusual places in my life. These past years I have spent more living out of a car/backpack and climbing almost every rock I have encountered. It is time for me to turn the tables and host those who are on the road and looking for a little adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on the top of El Capitan watching the sun rise after 3 days of intense climbing and drinking the lukewarm beer that had been hidden under a rock, it was the most amazing feeling of accomplishment I have every experienced. Hitchhiking half way across the country in under 24 hours. The most amazing and generous people are out there if you give them a chance... also some of the strangest.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can drive a tractor, tie a bow tie, paint fingernails, ride a horse, sleep while standing. and fashion myself as a cook... haha ish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What the madness of the city can throw at you we try to create a peaceful space. A place to chill, make good food, and a home base for all adventurers.
