About Me

I’m Madison! I’m a kind hearted, gentle human with an overall awe and appreciation for the magic of the moment. I am a Buddhist practitioner, an artist and seeker. I work as a chef, a caregiver and also have a love for vintage clothing. I love to travel and sometimes do it for work. I love animals and kids! I love to write, read and ponder the nature of things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I prefer to connect people in a way that isn’t insulated- meaning I prefer actual homes and real life rather than Airbnb or hostels. I want to really experience honestly the places and people I travel to- and I want to experience places through the eyes of locals, in return I like to give back to the people I connect with, and practice reciprocity! It’s much more fulfilling to me making genuine connections all over the world, than staying holed up in a touristy hotel.

Interests

I am a passionate truth seeker. I am currently very interested in Buddhism, specifically Tibetan Buddhism. I love music, art and culture. I love connecting with people in a genuine way and getting to know the “real” sides of the places I travel- not just the touristy places, but I love seeing a place through the eyes of someone who knows it. I love nature. I live in Northern California where my nearest neighbor is miles away- I spend a lot of time staring at the stars, hiking and enjoying the redwood trees and ocean. I play guitar and like to sing, and I love to cook! When I travel, I also LOVE trying new food and exploring markets and restaurants.
