Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a student/traveler with little funds and a preference for meeting new people and locals and sharing experiences rather than staying in hotels and simply being a tourist. My friend Sophie and I are road tripping back home to Massachusetts at the end of August and would love to share the experience with people along the way.

Jazz, flamenco, blues, a little bit of everything -I'm always open to sharing playlists and going to concerts!

My reading and movie watching is also extremely erratic.
I love illustration mostly - Tomi Ungerer, Art Spiegelman, and such. Political artwork and cartoons are a guilty pleasure

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I swam in the North Sea at three in the morning where the plankton turned the water neon.

I used to work for a volunteer program that handled natural disasters. I spent a few months tearing down houses that were completely ruined from floods with rivers running straight through them and mold from floor to ceiling. (And got to use a baseball bat to take down a house once!)

Not amazing but always interesting... I am (usually) too poor to pay for a haircut so I let my friends (and just about anybody) cut my hair. I've only been hurt once in the process. One time I ended up bald with my scalp dyed pink.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study environmental design and am always interested in talking about social design, architecture, or city planning. I'm into plant-based nutrition if you want to learn how to enjoy plants and cook great green things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A positive attitude, good time, and interest in sharing cultures - and willingness to clean and cook! I like to draw (more scribble) and if you're lucky you might end up with a drawing.
