About Me

I am newly back on couchsurfing after a long hiatus - I am about to travel internationally for the first time since 2019, for pleasure for the first time since 2017. I am treating myself to a big 30th-birthday (slash, post-breakup slash post-pandemic-shutdown) trip and excited at the prospect of couchsurfing again!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The thing I love most about traveling is meeting real people from the area that I am in - I don't want to sugarcoat my vacations with 5-star hotels and guided tours around the capital (besides the fact that I can't afford it). I would rather hear about real experiences and find hidden gems, and couchsurfing is definitely a way to do that.

Interests

I'm a theatre nerd - I love seeing shows, working on shows, talking shop, listening to soundtracks, just being in general theatre-like spaces. I like running and thunderstorms and love when the two come together. I like exploring and am always up for hiking an unknown path or roaming around ruins.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll listen to anything that's not twangy country or screamo. My current go-to is George Ezra - he's just the one person I can go to when nothing else seems right.

Movies: I'm not super in to blood and gore, I can watch Disney any day, and I'm a fan of a lot of movies in between

Books: Catcher in the Rye, anything Jodi Picoult, anything Johnathan Safran Foer. I'm currently reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and interspersing it with a healthy mix of fiction and nonfiction that have been on my list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a village of ~1500 in rural Armenia for two years, volunteering as an English teacher.
