Über mich
Hi there! I'm Madison. I was born in Port Angeles but grew up in Ellensburg, Washington in the United States. I never quite fit in with the regular American's path of going to college, working, getting married, having kids, and then dying. I never wanted to. I was a terrible student and just wanted to learn and grow on my own terms. After barely graduating high school and working for two years to fuel a relationship that didn't work out, I'm headed to Thailand where I am going to a school and learning to teach English (ESL/TEFL).
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Couchsurfing was suggested to me by my father, Ryan McNeal, who has used it before. Then after reading about it in Matt Kepnes' blog, Nomadic Matt, I decided to try it. I'm hoping to use it to find cheap or free accommodation, make new friends, and find new adventures.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
My favorite band over the past few years has been The Black Keys. Most of the music I enjoy falls into Rock or Indie in some form. I also like EDM, Reggae, Folk, and Jazz.
My favorite movies are Hayao Miyazaki's films. Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Whisper of the Heart to name a few.
My favorite book so far has to be The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. I like to read books that I feel help me improve myself and if not those than I LOVE fantasy. My parents used to read fantasy books to me when I was little like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and since then I have loved fantasy worlds of adventure, swords, and sorcery.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
When I was a teenager my father and I went to Maui, Hawaii for the first time to visit our friend who lived there, Bucky. While we were there Bucky got us in touch with some locals who claimed they would take us on an epic hike through the jungle. They didn't lie. The hike was called The Commando and involved trespassing on a farmer property, weaving through a thick bamboo jungle, swimming through dark rocky ravines, climbing through tree canopy 80 feet above the ground, climbing up slippery water falls inside a pitch black cave and at the end climbing through a grate to get to a lake surrounded by jungle and a waterfall hundreds of feet high. There you had a view out across the jungle to the sea beyond. Oh and did I mention that this specific hike had been outlawed because a couple years back some locals were swept away down the cave and died? They didn't mention that fact to us until we had to turn around and go back.

Did you know that the honey bees in America are actually an invasive species? While so many environmentalists in the US are touting "Save the Bees!" If the honey bees went extinct it would actually give the native pollinators a chance to repopulate and they would likely take the place of honey bees very rapidly.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
My first job was actually as a Housekeeper at a hotel in my hometown so I have professional cleaning and housekeeping experience. I'd be happy to help clean, do chores, wash dishes, or whatever else needs to be done.
I'm new to cooking but I could cook. If I can find the right ingredients, I could make simple common western foods like Grilled Cheeses, Macaroni, Pasta, or Hamburgers or attempt something more complex.
If you are a non-native English speaker I could help you practice and improve your English skills!
