ABOUT ME

I am a fun-loving traveler looking to connect with other travelers around the globe! I am a marine biologist by trade but am currently focused on all things scuba. I am orginally from Austin Texas so I know a lot about great live music and Mexican food, but have spent the last year working at a dive shop in beautiful Maui, Hawaii! I just achieved my divemaster certification and adore the ocean and everything about it. I am currently on my working holiday visa in New Zealand and am so excited for this next adventure!

PHILOSOPHY

Learning is the most important thing to me. Whether it be in the traditional sense or not. I believe knowledge is power and there are so many ways to gain knowledge in this world. I spend much of my time in college learning through others. Other people's lectures, or books or publications. Now that I have my degree it is time for me to learn for myself. To learn about the world, to learn about people and other cultures and beliefs. And to become someone whom others can learn from in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couchsurfing experience a few years ago in Europe. It was me and my cousin's first time in Europe and we couchsurfed the majority of our time there. It was one of the best decisions we made! People are just so great. We had so much fun getting acquainted with locals and making friends all over. Although I have not been able to host lately (as I have been traveling) I love meeting up with surfers for coffee, drinks or the like. This community is awesome.

Being from Austin, I can't resist a great live music show. Cool venues and new bands are great! Give me a margarita, good food and music and I'll be in heaven! I also love hiking and swimming and can't resist a good adventure. Spending time near the sea is by far my favorite thing. The power of the ocean never fails to leave me in awe wondering about it's many mysteries.

Into fantasy novels and can resist a great love story.

Swimming with whale sharks in the the Caribbean was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Seeing the size, power and grace of the majestic animals truly blew my mind. Second only to experiencing Humpback whale season in Maui for the first time and getting to scuba with the whales. Absolutely incredible.

My experiences and food! The best way to connect is through a great meal. Tex Mex is my specialty but I dabble in lots of cuisines in the kitchen. I also make a mean margarita for anyone interested in more adult beverages.
