About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do no harm and make every day the best day ever!

ABOUT ME

I spent the last six years of my life living in Flagstaff, Arizona-a wonderful, small, mountain town filled with lots of fun-loving, down to earth folks in Northern Arizona. In Flagstaff, I studied art education at Northern Arizona University, worked for a conservation corps and spent my summers doing data collection for ecology research in areas throughout Arizona. I am originally from New Hampshire and grew up spending most of my time outside-biking, camping, backpacking, hiking, etc. I am a very easy-going, friendly, flexible, enthusiastic individual who enjoys spending time in the company of good people. I am currently traveling around Costa Rica, working on organic farms and doing my best to learn Spanish along the way. I am seeking connections with locals as I am traveling alone and want to learn as much as I can from the people around me.

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I travel through Central America, I hope to be the couch surfer this time 'round. However, when I have my own place, I would love to host people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed a few times in Costa Rica and every experience was wonderful. It makes all the difference in the world to stay with a local, to be invited into their home, and shown around a new place. I know I will stay in contact with some hosts I have had and I hope they know that they are always welcome at my house in Arizona!

Interests

I play the Scottish fiddle and ukulele and guitar and enjoy singing, reading, drinking tea, journaling, drawing, dancing, cooking, and live music. I also enjoy hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, and spending time outdoors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed through the jungle to the top of La Cangreja mountain, using machetes to clear the path. An amazing Costa Rican experience in the middle of a jungle paradise! Best day ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my passion for preparing, cooking, and savoring delicious food. My father is a chef and I was raised to appreciate food that is colorful, healthy, and filled with love. I enjoy cooking for (and with!) my close friends and family as it is another way of expressing love. I believe sharing meals with people is essential to living a happy life. In this fast-paced world, this doesn't always happen and I am dedicated to keeping the tradition of eating together alive.
