About Me

ABOUT ME

I've lived in China for over 4 years, more than 2 of those in Beijing. My background is in languages and music, and I try to keep up both as much as I can. I'm from Estonia but I've lived abroad since the age of 17, in places like Hong Kong, Ohio, and several big Chinese cities. I like living in China, because there is always another restaurant to try and another interesting travel destination to explore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To build connections with people all over the world through traveling. I've heard a lot of great stories from people who've traveled or hosted through Couchsurfing, and I'm looking forward to being part of the karma circle it creates. :)

Interests

I love to travel! Besides that, I like singing and playing the guitar, going to concerts, playing board games, being physically active (my favorites are hiking, long distance running & badminton) and having enough time to curl up with a book! I also like languages and long conversations with friends/strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit a paying job to volunteer for a cause I believe in (I didn't keep it up for too long due to financial constraints but it was a big leap for me).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: Mandarin Chinese, Estonian, how to make a non-bake cake, how to play mahjong and Chinese chess... And if you want to learn how to split an apple with your bare hands, you've found the right person.

I want to learn: snowboarding, cooking Indian and Mexican food, some sort of cool street dancing, classical guitar... and mostly anything else, as long as you talk about it with passion! ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

All kinds of logistical support, for example how to get from A to B, how to find the best breakfast pancake in Beijing, etc... :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, England, Finland, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Philippines, Russian Federation, Serbia, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, United States, Viet Nam
