Overview
About Me
I am a postgraduate student, currently resident in Austria but soon to be moving to the West Coast of the USA. I can't host right now due to space constraints but would love to welcome you once I've set up house stateside!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best times I've had travelling have been when I've met new people and got to share some spontaneous moments with them, hearing about their adventures and perspectives and enjoying their company in an otherwise unfamiliar place.
Interests
Cycling, swimming (especially in lakes!), hiking, singing, baking, reading (novels, poetry, essays, blogs, the news), trying whatever alcohol is a regional specialty...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I kind of shuttle between folk music/Americana, dance music and rap/trap, with some pop music and shameless emo thrown in for good measure.
Movies: Mostly things in the Greta Gerwig school of offbeat excellence, or dramas that make the everyday poetic. I recently liked Short Term 12.
Books: I like reading but I am a (perhaps unfairly) harsh critic. Of things I've read recently, I still think about Dave Egger's 'The Circle' months after finishing it; Ali Smith's 'How To Be Both' had some lovely parts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw a Madagascar Magpie Robin in its native habitat!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can make great zucchini bread (a kind of cake my Canadian mother used to make when I was a child).
I can also help you practice your English, if that's something you're interested in!
