Hi! Call me Mae Vonne or Mae.

I LOVE travelling, learning new languages and cultures, meeting new people, exploring myself and the world, gaining new experience, cooking, trying new things, challenging myself, and of course.....eating.

I grew up with music, so yes, I do love the piano, guitar and pretty much any genre of music. I also started working out 2 years ago and have gotten pretty fit since then. That being said, I have a daily struggle between my love for food and the gym; and also an odd love-hate-relationship with the gym.

After completing my one-year-exchange-program in China and traveling around Asia, I've gotten the chance to meet so many friends from all parts of the world, of whom I'm currently still friends with! The experience I've gained were priceless and therefore I do not plan to settle just yet. I plan to continue my annual trips around the world over the next few years.

I've always lived by this motto: "Better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times. "

What better way to travel than to meet some locals and explore a city from the eyes of a local?!

Traveling with another like-minded person, be it a traveler or a local of the country, is a mile better than a money-ripping travel tour.

I would like to meet new friends, hear some stories, perhaps travel together, or practicing some languages and learn more about the country and the culture.

From classical music, to instrumental music, to ballads, to pop rock, to foreign music, to indie music....I appreciate all genre of music, and can enjoy different kinds of music depending on my mood; that's the beauty of being a musician.

A die-hard fan of many tv series, some I'm currently crazy about are of course Game of Thrones, the Vikings and New Girl. Some old series that I used to like are Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle....etc.

I watch pretty much any movies and read all kinds of books.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Joining the one-year university exchange program to China. I certainly did not expect China to be this amazing, I really didn't. Especially from what you usually hear about this country prior to the visit.

Being a Malaysian of Chinese heritage, I have absolute zero knowledge about my Chinese roots or history nor did I have any interest to get to know them back then. Until I came to China, everything changed. I've got to meet people from countries and little islands I've never even heard of, I got to listen to all these various international stories, cultures and languages. I got to meet some of my favorite and closest friends from all over the world. I've done things I never thought I could have. I've traveled so much around China and other Asian countries with these amazing people.

I've experienced life, for the first time, after 20 years. This experience has certainly been an eye-opening experience and I don't regret one bit choosing to exchange to China for a year.

I speak multiple languages and if you would like to, I can certainly practice a certain language with you or teach you some basic phrases. I am also a pianist and guitarist, so we could perhaps be jamming along some music and stuff.
