About Me

CURRENT MISSION:
Meet locals and deepen my connection with my mother's land; Improve my knowledge of Greek language, history and cooking.
Practice building a peaceful and still Mind; strong and healthy Body; and an active and engaged Brain.

Hello CSs! I have taken a 7 month leave of absence from work and my partner is on sabbatical ( he does A.I. research while we travel...he calls it fun!) We arrived in Greece on April 19th after travelling in India for 2.5 months. In India I spent 2 weeks at an ashram and did a mediation and yoga retreat in Rishikesh. I hope to cultivate and carry that experience with me. While in Greece I also plan on improving my ability to speak Greek.

India was my first official couchsurfing experience. My cousin had stayed with hosts in Delhi, and when they came to stay with her in Canada I hosted them for dinner. They then hosted us at their home in Delhi like we were family! I also did some couchsurfing meet-ups in India; It was a great experience and I would like to continue this in Greece and offer the same when we return to Canada!

ABOUT ME

My family background is Greek and I love experiencing different cultures. When I travel, I like to meet locals and learn how they live...so Couchsurfing seems like a great idea:) I've done quite a bit of solo travelling around the world in what I now call my younger years :) Then I met my well-travelled partner, a professor at the University of Toronto, and we have been adventuring together for the past decade.

I work as a physiotherapist treating people with neurological conditions; Anthony is a professor of computer science. He loves discussing world events. I love red wine! We look forward to meeting and sharing with you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We've found the most memorable part of our travels is often not the tourist destinations...it's the people. We are interested in meeting locals, learning about history, culture, current events and local traditions. We often do this using Airbnb and renting a room in someone's home. Couch surfing seems like an even better way to do this...as the hosts are interested in meeting you too!
