I'm a Canadian university student, studying economics and literature, who loves travelling (well, duh, I guess we all are on here), reading, and anything-outdoorsy! I'm interested in getting to know new places I visit through meeting the people there and talking about history, current events, books, or really anything!

For years, I’ve been set on becoming an investigative journalist, which I think ties into me being naturally curious about learning more about the world. The reason I’m on CS is to help me with this goal of connecting with others and exploring new cultures and countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on a seven week backpacking trip this May and June and this app has been amazing for meeting others. I’ve done about five hangouts so far which have made my visits to different cities and has led to making friends from Galway, Ireland to Lyon, France.

I would also love to try out staying at homes in order to be more immersed in the surrounding culture. I’m especially interested in practicing conversing in French (already learned the basics back in school in Canada!) and getting tips for where to explore in the area.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music and have been listening to a lot of Lana Del Ray lately. Recently, I’ve gotten really into classical literature like Thomas Hardy and Jane Austen. Since I'm currently learning French, I'd love to hear any French books/movies/music recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have to admit that I may embody the Canadian stereotype of loving the outdoors; last summer, I even guided a 21-day canoe trip in the Temagami area of Ontario! 🛶 🌲

I’m not here to save on hostels! I’d love to spend time with hosts to experience whatever city I’m visiting (but also fine with staying out of your hair if you might be busy!) I’m also down to trade tips on hitchhiking and help a host practice some English.
