About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make everyone feel at home while they’re in my home in Madrid
ABOUT ME
Well, I've lived several years in Barcelona and I'm one of those persons that defend that: when in Rome, act like a roman. So you can imagine that I did a lot, visited a lot, went to a lot of restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, etc. And, despite the fact that it has been more than one year since I moved to Madrid, I still receive calls and whatsapps from friends in Barcelona (and from Barcelona) that are in a certain neighbourhood, don't know where to have dinner and seek for my help. So I recon they would say that I have a bit of "TIME OUT" complex. Plus, that I'm someone nice to be around because I'm always in a great mood. And a bunch of other stuffâÃâ¬Ã¦
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I said before, I would be happy to make everyone feel at home while they’re in my home in Madrid. I also would like to make them love more the cities where they grow up and that they momentarily left behind, make them fell that the more they travel, the more they love their cities. And finally, I want to feel at home at my own home as well. I always shared flats and since I moved to Madrid one year ago and started living on my own that I don’t feel at home at all, my home was always very chaotic and full of live and now it is very quiet, so by helping and welcoming my guests I would also be helping me and amusing myself.
Interests
Lately I spend most of my time travelling, either for work or pleasure. It’s my less secret addiction. Love, love, love to travel, especially to visit my friends in their home towns and share a bit of their living habits, culture, gastronomy, etc. When I’m in Madrid I like to walk around (or ride my motorbike around) as well, have some tapas & cañas at a terrace, go to an exhibition or concert, or simply stay home, invite some friends to taste my food and play some table games while enjoying a glass of wine. I also have two blogs (a fashion blog and a travel/photography blog) that take the rest of my free time!
Music, Movies, and Books
Ufffff, so many and so different. Once you're in my flat you'll quickly discover my music, literature and movie tastes. My books, CDs, DVDs are everywhere and part of the furniture.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
. The first time I dove, it was in Brazil some years ago and it was absolutely amazing! Not only the feeling of diving (the vacuum I felt during the first seconds and then – until the moment I come back to the surface and to reality – that feeling that I can’t properly explain but that made me think that I was still in my mum’s uterus) is with me from that day in 2005, but also the beauty I saw in those Brazilian’s waters doesn’t leave me alone. I can’t wait to have a similar experience soon!
. Another amazing moment happened this year, in May, in London. The capital of the UK is perhaps, from all the cities I know my favourite. At least so far! I’m also a huge art lover and this year at what might perhaps have been my 10th visit to Modern Tate I discovered the art of Damien Hirst. To be more precise I discover “In and Out of Love”. It is an installation where live butterflies fly freely around a humid room. The butterflies I felt inside my stomach the moment I entered that room and the real butterflies came to me and stopped on my face, hands, legs, etc. are indescribable. In that moment I was super happy to be there, to have the freedom, the wealth and the health to travel as much as I do and to see a lot of incredible art from around the world.
. Another magic moment was when I entered the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum. Despite my religion that ceiling is a peace of heaven on earth and in the moment I saw it, after 23 days travelling alone around Europe (with and Interrail pass) with any accidents or major dramas, I was very appreciative for everything. Nevertheless I know that these three experiences are only the begin of what is still left to do, see, taste, touch, smell, listen, etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
I tend to be an amazing guide from the cities I live in. Because I’m very curious I like to learn about the cities I live and love to share those histories with my guests. So if you’re looking for a couch but also for someone to have a good time while you are shown around, I’m pretty sure you will find me the perfect host.
