Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and meet people from all around the world. I believe couchsurfing is the best way to discover places most tourist haven't heard of. Seeing a place through the eyes of a local is the most valuable experience you can have. I want to share my own culture and show others the beautiful polish traditions, talk about polish history and find out how similar our backgrounds are and what we can learn from each other. I don't want to limit myself or others to a "typical tourist" experience but go beyond that.

I have hosted a girl from Slovakia for a week and stayed at a Romanian girls's house for the same amount of time, which made me fall in love with this way of travelling long before I heard the name "couchsurfing". Both of those experiences were amazing and I'd be more than glad to repeat them and give back to the couchsurfing community!

When I was in London I was lucky enough to use CS twice and I absolutely fell in love with the idea. My first host visited me in Poland a few weeks after I left her house, showing her Poland was absolutely amazing :)

I love the cinema, literature, languages, sports (including extreme ones) and above all - travelling and getting to know other cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Literature and the cinema are two of my biggest passions and I can talk about them non-stop!

Movies: Not a week goes by without me watching some better or worse movies, so the list could be endless but I'll try to limit myself here. I love dramas, psychological movies, I'm not a fan of horrors, comedies and action movies.

Some of my favourites are Fight Club, A beautiful mind, Trainspotting, A clockwork orange, anything that Fincher and Nolan make. I also enjoy the work of Wes Anderson, Kubrick a lot.

Literature: the same situation as with movies.
I really like Palahniuk, Bukowski, Wilde, Hłasko, Orwell, Dostoyevski and many other authors that I probably forgot to name. I'm a big fan of antyutopias too (chapeau bas Orwell and Huxley).

I also enjoy reading non-fiction, especially reportages, books on psychology and philosophy.

I love languages, I speak English fluently and my native language is Polish. I'm happy to help you with both, or if you already speak them or simply aren't interested I have a lot of experience learning languages and I'm happy to share what I discovered during the process. I know a lot of techniques and ways to making the experience more enjoyable, interesting and effective!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always open for a discussion, no matter what the topic is. We can talk about travelling, languages, politics or literature. I'm happy to share polish culture and customs if you're interested in how our country works :) I'm also interested in linguistics and I can teach you polish or the basics of Spanish! I'm a lifeguard too, so if we visit the beach, no worries, I won't let you drown! :D

I like to give others something to remember me and Poland by, so my hosts can expect a small gift, (made in China probably) but straight from Poland! :)
