ABOUT ME
I am a student of english and south african studies in Poznan, Poland. It wasn't quite my life plan, but I enjoy what is coming out if it anyway!
Uni, of course, is not eveything I'm concerned with. I always say I could do better but I also have a life... And in this life I am co-founder of Kolektyw 1a, a small cultural initiative in PoznaÅ. Together with my friends we rent a tenament nearby city center and organise shows, talks, screenings, parties and revitalise the neighbourhood. This is the place for us to show our skills and interests and invite others to do so. You can find us on facebook (http://facebook.com/kolektyw1a), unfortunately in polish only, but maybe photos will give you some idea of what the place looks like and what we do.
I'm very expressive person. If I like something I would tell you straight how much, laughing, screaming and smiling widely. This might also apply the other way, however I believe in etiquette and respect, so I rather wouldn't be harsh:) Maybe I'm even too much of a thinker in these cases.
PHILOSOPHY
compromise, respect, understanding, communication, and why not? attitude
(but seriously, lately I've been having serious problems believing in existence of efficient communication, anyway.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, since I still live with my family, I'm more into being hosted than hosting for obvious reasons, BUT it's not that I can't host at all!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
For now - none, but I'd love to gather some:)
Interests
I'm really involved in photography. I owe few cameras and use them quite extensively, mostly small (135) format and polaroid. You can look up my personal work here: http://mdomeracka.blogspot.com
I actually love to cook! Or, to be more accurate, bake. Cakes and muffins are really my thing, but if you show me a nice recipe for some fancy quiche or anything that would seem interesting, I won't hesitate.
I love the universe. Galaxies, black holes, space continuum, LHC and the beggining of everything are fascinating in a strange way for me; it seems so impossible to imagine and understand it all, yet somehow I don't stop trying. If I were better at maths, I'd be definitely studying physics and astronomy, but well, I'm not - there's only theory left for me.
Thanks to my studies I got interested in South Africa. I find this country full of ambivalence. It's not only harmful, yet fascinating history, or rich cultures constantly merging with themselves but also the task that these people want to archieve - to build a country for all the nations living there that feels home. I so wish to go there one day.
And I'm a little geek, I have an unhealthy attachement to my computer and internet, but just a tiny little.
