About Me
Hello!
My name is Magdalena, I'm 20 and I'm from Gdańsk - which is a stunning city located by the Polish Baltic Sea. Currently I'm living in the capital city of Poland - Warsaw, since I study here. I moved in with my two amazing friends, with whom (and not only!) I am able to move mountains together! My best friends play a very crucial role in my life and I believe that I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have an opportunity to rock this world with such lovely partners in crime!
I think that the process of getting to know a person consists of spending time together and that these are often the little things that help us understand a nature of the other human being - that's why I decided to collect some of my little characteristics:
- I believe that good always wins
- I believe in collective responsibility of all the people living on this planet
- I don't really believe in the power of money (at least to some extent, it can be complicated)
- I think that 'yolo' is a truly powerful word and it often speaks to me a lot and I'm not ashamed of it! :)
- I absolutely love having deep conversations with my family
- My life guiding word is 'connection'
- I think that the beauty of nature is one of the best things that people could ever be blessed with
- I do believe and always will, that 'education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world'
- I love to laugh and so I adore people with great sense of humor!
- active leisure is better than passive leisure ALWAYS
- I do art and it makes me feel so good!
- I have so many dreams and am passionate about so many things, that sometimes it is a problem for me to handle my level of excitement
- I think that curiosity is a real blessing
- Still cannot decide whether I prefer mountains or the sea
- I believe in balance, freedom and respect
- I adore animals, but dogs definitely steal my heart every damn time!
And of course, it's impossible to list all the things, so I hope that if our journeys ever cross, you'll be able to find out more (and vice versa!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always had this idea of my youth in my mind, that's full of adventures, spontaneous trips, exploring foreign places, trying new activities and pushing myself out of my comfort zone - basically. So when I turned 20, I made a resolution. I would LOVE to take advantage of the fact that I'm privileged enough to live on this beautiful Earth and actually get to know it to the fullest! And so that's why I decided to join Couchsurfing - to make my inner desire come true.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One summer I went backpacking with my mom. We chose breathtaking Bieszczady mountains as our destination. We had a crazy trip, slept in different mountain huts, met a lot of interesting people while sharing rooms (or even floor), saw so many beautiful sunsets. I remember this one mountain hut with no electricity whatsoever. Together with my mom, we would go outside and lie on the grass and look at the sky in the middle of nowhere. On this trip, for the first time in my life, I saw a sky literally FULL of stars. It was insane! I will be forever grateful for such a memory.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share with you a magic of thrifting!
Wherever I go, I like to visit a local thrift shop, as unique clothes work as perfect souvenirs for me! I always recall memories while wearing a particular piece of clothing. So let's do this!
If you own a ukulele or a guitar, we can play a song together! I'm not a master, but definitely love it :) Maybe it would be fun to learn a Polish song? And the other one sung in your language?
Definitely cooking! I really enjoy doing it, so it would be a pleasure to get to know some other cuisines and taste different dishes!
Other than that, I'm interested in learning pretty much anything that you're good at. I'm open to new activities as such and would really appreciate that you are willing to spend your free time with me and even share some of your hobbies! However, if you know how to surf, that would be awesome, because I would really want to try one day!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Of course, I can try to make you more aware of my country - Poland: describe what Polish people are like, what are our traditions, our history, political situation, food, music, landscape, education system and all that jazz. We can share our opinions on different areas of life, since I'm really keen on such conversations. Unfortunately, I won't be able to prepare a typical Polish meal for you, since I don't eat meat, BUT we can cook vegan/vegetarian versions and that's even more fun, right? :)
