I think couchsurfing is a great possibility to get in contact with interesting people and you can learn the most about a country by knowing its people.
In summer 2015 I´ve tried couchsurfing for the first time during an interrail-trip and it was a great experience.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

hiking for couple of days in summer, while it was raining and snowing as hell
dancing barefoot in the rain on a small festival with great people (think I like rain hehe)
backpacking and couchsurfing for 3 weeks through Europe
