About Me
Hi! I'm Magdalena, but most people call me Madzia. I'm currently studying Social Project Management at a university in Wrocław. I'm a passionate traveler and have explored many places in the U.S. and Europe. I even spent a year in the U.S. as an Au Pair, which was an amazing experience. I come from a big family with four siblings, so I love being around people and always enjoy good company.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to experience a new place is through its people. I love meeting locals and hearing their stories, and Couchsurfing gives me that opportunity. It’s not just about saving money—it's about making connections and creating unforgettable memories. I also want to give back to the community by hosting travelers whenever I can.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have a deep love for theater and literature—there’s nothing like getting lost in a good book or watching a captivating play.
I’m a big fan of The Cranberries; their music always gets me in the right mood. When it comes to TV shows, I love watching Outlander, Peaky Blinders, and Bridgerton—I guess I have a thing for historical drama! As for books, I’m drawn to psychological and romantic novels, as well as those on self-development. They keep me thinking and growing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing adventures I’ve had was hitchhiking around the island of Oahu in Hawaii, riding in the back of a pickup truck—it was such a freeing experience! Another memorable moment was climbing glaciers in Alaska. These kinds of adventures fuel my love for travel and exploration.
Teach, Learn, Share
Here’s a funny yet practical tip for fellow travelers: if you’re flying with Ryanair and need extra space for clothes, stuff them into a pillowcase and pretend it’s just a pillow—works like a charm! Or, if you’re at the airport and your bag is overweight, transfer some of your things into a duty-free shopping bag. You’d be surprised at how often it works!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories from my travels and cultural experiences, especially from my time living in the U.S. I’m also happy to cook a Polish meal or teach you some Polish phrases. And, of course, I’ll bring a positive attitude and a willingness to help with anything around the house. I believe in being a good guest and leaving a place even better than I found it.
