About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being a professional ;) A Cappella fan

ABOUT ME

*** NEXT TRAVELLING PROJECT: Graz/Austria in July ***

Hi there, I'm Sandra, I was born in 1976. At the age of 19 I moved from a small Brandenburg town to Berlin for studying as a solicitor. I lived there for 12 years and loved the city. But my work at the office didn't really fulfill me, I wanted to live out my big passion - travelling and theatre and live music. So I quit the job finally, moved to my sister's and nieces' city Dresden and started working in culture agencies and comedy clubs. Finally in Juli 2009 I opened up my own A Cappella agency called "Mad4Music" and well - here I am :)

I've been a vegetarian for half of my life because I don't want to harm any creature.

My Hospitality Club-profile: http://secure.hospitalityclub.org/hc/travel.php?cid=Magenta76

PHILOSOPHY

"Lebenskunst - Die Fähigkeit, auf etwas Notwendiges zu verzichten, um sich etwas Überflüssiges zu leisten." (unknown)

"Gefesselt ist, wer sich gefesselt glaubt, und frei ist, wer es sich selbst erlaubt" (Der Magier, "Tabaluga & Lilli")

"Don't dream it - be it!!" ("Rocky Horror Show")

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hosting/surfing mostly friends here but I travelled and surfed some nights with always gorgeous hosts, mostly in course of an A Cappella festival somewhere (Mainz, Vienna, Graz, London ...).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed and hosted many friends before.

I'm also a member of Hospitality Club and through this site I already spent some nights at really nice peoples' homes in several German cities and in Austria. Unfortunately most people I asked for accomodation via Hospitality Club didn't even answer my requests. So I find it quite difficult to finally find a bed for one or two nights.

Interests

As I already said: travelling and concerts and theatre ("Rocky Horror Show", "Dance of the Vampires", "Hair" ...); also reading (Stephen King, travellers reports ...), sleeping, eating (Indian :)), spending time with my little nieces, Yoga ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing in my life was to quit my old, exhausting, depressing job at the office and completely restart my life in 2008. I changed simply everything: My town, my home, my relations, my job. Finally my feelings and energy returned. In the old times I felt like in a hamster's wheel. Now I've been experiencing just unbelievable things. The second day of my work at one agency I was backstage of the Dresden Sinfonic Orchestra. I've been getting to know wonderfully artistic people. Most of them are really open-minded and welcome me and my new business with open arms and much help. I'm free now and I want to share this experience with others.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is a wonderful idea!! I'd like to recommend the book "How to be free" by idler Tom Hodgkinson (www.idler.co.uk).

In Germany I recommend www.utopia.de and www.tauschticket.de. The first one is a platform about ecological way of living. The second one is a site to swap books, music, computer games and anything else for free.

Also www.derknauserer.at is a fantastic project about easy and ecological living.
