Hello!

So, I'm Maggie. I grew up in a small rural town on the shores of the bountiful Great Lakes. Depending on the time of year, the air there smells of either grape vineyards, small local fisheries, or autumn Maple trees. But, I'm really more of a city lover now, even though I'd consider myself a 'wilderness enthusiast.' The hustle and bustle, vast culture, community engagement, and endless opportunities of cities just draws me in.

I'm a Senior at the University at Buffalo, studying Environmental Geosciences and Environmental Studies. I'm hoping to someday work somewhere that ties together community development, urban sustainability, and restoration ecology.

I have a tattoo of a sunflower and an 'Ohm' on my back. It's matching with the one on my best friend's ankle. She lives 2,100 miles away and I miss her dearly.

I currently work at a local Brewery in downtown Buffalo. When I visit my Dad (who lives in Ohio) we brew beer together (and drink a few, of course.) It's so much fun, last time we made an IPA with 7 types of hops!

SURFING
Why not!? I love to travel (I mean, I LIVE to travel.) I flourish around sharing things and space with other people. I currently live in a house with 4 real 'bedrooms' and 6 roommates (two have boyfriends as well!) Luckily we're all pretty tidy people! I'm hoping to meet some sweet new friends during my couch surfing experience and learn a thing or two about life from them and the way they live. I think it's amazing that a stranger would let me into their home and shelter me, how humbling. Humans can be so unbelievably accepting and I'm really excited to have stumbled upon this opportunity! Can't wait to meet you!

HOSTING
My house is currently unavailable for for people to crash, but I do hope to host in the future! I love showing people around the beautiful city of Buffalo!

I honestly like most music, especially if it's being preformed live. If I can dance to it, it's probably my favorite. It it speaks to my heart, it's also probably my favorite.

"The Hobbit," by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Movies:
Not really a movie person.... Ferngully?
I like clever films and cool camera shots and also absolutely absurd films (Monty Python.)

Made an account on couchsurfing! Just kidding.... A year ago I was studying Geothermal Power in Iceland and saw the Aura Borealis, twice. I don't know if you've ever seen it before but it's unexplainable. If you have seen it/ see it regularly, I hope you still feel that way about it.

I can probably teach you about yoga, but I'm not a certified yoga instructor.
I can also teach you about some sustainability practices.
Or maybe I'll teach you how to ferment food or drinks!
I'm hoping others can teach me about themselves and also share a few good laughs with me.
