About Me

Hello couchsurfing world! I am originally from Maine in the U.S. (lots of trees, hiking, mountain biking, lakes, etc) and graduated with a degree in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I'm about to start a masters degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Oxford in England. I enjoy the studious but am very easy going and crave adventure. I've spend quite a bit of time living and working in a few different places. I have been living and working in Indonesia all of last year and am excited to have some time before starting my masters for a bit of European travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing to try and find some great people to connect with during my European travels in September. Though seeing all the sights of a new place is great, it is very important to me to meet local people and share interests along the way. I'm always up for suggestions of things to do. I am not the best cook ever, but I'm more than willing to prep a meal and earn my keep!

Interests

I'm up for learning about anything new. My big interests include: documentary films, sustainable fashion, dance (hip hop is my forte though I'm hardly an expert), shinty (the Scottish national sport; I recommend googling it!), field hockey, hiking, trail running, skiing, snowshoeing, contemporary art museums (and any museum really), mountain biking.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I had to pick one group, I'd say my favourite musical geniuses are Orishas (afro-Cuban hip hop). I also like a wide variety of folk, afro-latino, 60s/70s classics, Beyonce (guilty pleasure), and anything else you can dance to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a tough one... I've piloted small airplanes but sadly I never completed my pilot's license. Still, flying a small plane (especially touch-and-go landings/takeoffs) is such an incredible feeling!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to twerk... Hmmm, other than that, I'm happy to learn about anything and everything. I love a good politics or social issues talk but am someone who is keen to learn and careful not to push my thoughts on life on others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love for life (quite the cheesy offer) and my general passion for life and whatever adventure awaits me next.
