i hail from new york city. lived in minneapolis for a few years.
moved to sitka in southeast alaska in may 2011.
it's gorgeous and wild! i'm not talking about bold squirrels and punk pigeons in central park in ny...it's an entirely different kind of natural beauty here.

am brand new. have a number of friends who have used it while traveling or have hosted. thought i'd try it out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

salmon going upstream. i'd only ever heard about it in fourth grade science class before moving to sitka. it blew my mind to watch it in person.

also: sea anemones and starfish.

everything here still seems magical, unreal, and pretty amazing to me.
