World tour to visit schools and promote wakeboard in a wheelchair

ABOUT ME

I became paraplegic after a Kite Surfing accident on the 6th may 2005. I suffered spine injuries and, as a result, lost use of both legs (but not of the abdominal muscles).

Before my accident, I used to practice a huge amount of sport and the extreme (free riding ski, free-fall, kite surf…) were my favourites. I also worked as a ski Patrol in La Plagne (French Alps).

In May 2005, a few days only after my crash, I told my friends, I would be skiing, paragliding, kite surfing very soon.

This wasn’t a lie as, only a few months after I left the rehabilitation centre, I started skiing again.

Ever since, I'm been working hard to prove that life in a wheelchair doesn’t have to be boring.

I continue to work in La Plagne Ski resort during the winter and spend the rest of my free time travelling and gliding (on snow or on water).

Since my accident, I rode 4x4s in the African desert, practised kite-surf in Morocco, participated to a TV show in Tanzania, climbed El Cerro del Plata in Argentina, and participated to the Winter Xgames in USA...and my last adventure was a world tour by myself to visit cablepark.

“Magic Bastos” is an association created by my family who wanted to help and support me after my accident.

Today, Magic Bastos is a big network of people who believe that disabled people can take incredible challenges.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I did a trip alone over the world. I met a lot of incredible people with CSing.
Now I will be in La Plagne a famous french ski resort till april. I would like to welcome all CSers who hosted me also and meet new nice people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed more than 50 couches in the world and I only had perfect experiences !
I also received some people from my first world tour who are now my friends.

I'm a water ski addict and I visited more 100 cableski all over the world. I propose to exchange any experiences about (disabled) glide sport...
I also suggest to the able-bodied persons to try my equipment if they want to discover new sensations.
