About Me
Hello there! My name is Sergi Gàlvez Capdevila, I am 21 years old and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I am currently studying the 4rd grade of the East Asian Studies degree, on the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), but as it happens, right now I'm attending to an exchange programe in the SISU (Shanghai International Studies University), at Shanghai, China. This way, I can study the forth year here in Shanghai, the most modern city I've ever met.
I consider myself as a language learning lover, speaking four at this point of my life: Chinese, English, Spanish and Catalan (this last one is my native mother tongue). I always wanted to learn as much languages as possible. Exploring beyond my limits and showing to the world what I am really capable of, is something I enjoy. Since I was a child, I had already learned some things about the whole world of East Asia, more specifically, China, and then, with time, I fell in love. It was at that moment when I promised to myself that one day I would be able to learn and speak their own language, the Chinese. Also, since I was grown up enough to think about future, I always focused on making me a place at university, looking for a degree with some kind of relation with China, and some years ago I found it, it is my currently degree, East Asian Studies. Being the very first of my family to join a university, I made my own dream happen and I do not wish to stop now because I have a large list of wishes I want to achieve! And I hope that I can meet so many friends along the way, maybe one of those could be the person that's reading this at this moment! ^-^
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I said before, attending the exchange will undoubtedly be the most important journey in my life. A great adventure of learning new things, getting the chance to meet new people and discover new places to visit! This is why I decided to sign up on Couchsurfing, to meet new people, try new experience and learn from it! And even with all those countries to choice (like Japan, Korea, USA, Europe, etc.) I have no doubt that China is the best nation to experience all these things. China is definitely a beautiful and very rich country in terms of culture, tradition, history and economy, and I want to be a part of it. Also, there is no better successful way to improve a language than living there for a while.
