About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to be the best teacher i can be
ABOUT ME
i'm a thinker, i'm a dreamer, i'm discontent, but hopeful. i'm a series of contradictions: I am a muslim, but attend a baptist university. i come from a conservative, south asian bubble, but I am a couch surfer. i'm extremely dedicated to the community i grew up in and spend at least 10 hours a week working in it, but have chosen to live my life outside it. my core is calm in the midst of the billion and one things i try to do. i am comfortable in these tensions that rule my life, but still am always trying to explain them both to others and myself.
Sometime I think that I cannot be contained in a simple box full of characters that may or may not mean something to you. Other times I revel in the beauty of simplicity and feel like a unified entity that has a driving purpose in life. despite all the uncertainty, this is my attempt to tell you "all" about me.
PHILOSOPHY
don't wait for the future to live your life the way you want to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have co-hosted several people with my former roommate Taryn. I've also stayed with several amazing people. I've loved, loved, loved all my experiences with the community. I find such a high probability of great, quality conversations with couchsurfers.
Interests
I'm working on elaborating this part, but for now it is....
anthakshari(bollywood musical combat), conversations that change your life, walking not running, chocolate and coffee, meeting long lost relatives, my family tree, volunteering, pushing the limits, reading, reading, and reading some more, teaching, taking action photos, exploring differences in cultural perspectives of time. Speaking of time, it's 5:00 AM in Amsterdam and I really should be winding down from the hyperness, but I have a feeling the jet lag is just setting in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think it was absolutely amazing to slither through a series of boulders that had collapsed on top of each other in Enchanted Rock, Texas. We were underground, it was the middle of the night, and I was scared. I used muscles I never knew I had! The people I was with had such high spirits despite all of the madness that went on both during and after the climb (my friend had a horrible reaction to a scorpion bite and we were stuck on the side of the mountain for at least an hour). It was a magical, frightening night.
