About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make public schools embrace computer games as a tool for learning
ABOUT ME
I am curious, friendly and social. I love my balcony in summer and my fireplace in winter.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe there is a zen classic that says one should treat grave matters as if they were of little importance and light matters with great gravity. I think that is a good idea. Too many people spend too much energy being concerned about big things that they cannot change, and forget about the little things that would enrich their lives.
(And since philosophy is a grave matter, i dont bother to find out where the quote is from.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I have hardly participated. But i hope to do so from now on! Im going for a short holiday now in May, and hope to spend at least one night on someones couch. And i also want to receive guests. I just need to vacuum clean the appartment first!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I slept in Claudio's armchair in Milano one night last year. A great visit! That is all my experience as a surfer.
But last summer i didn't have time for a vacation myself, so instead i hosted many surfers here in Oslo. It was great to experience the friendliness and variety of couchsurfers, and to be able to help out people who came to visit my dear home town.
Interests
I love literature, history and video games. I try to combine them all in my work as a high school history teacher.
Oh, and having read other CS profiles, I am really happy to learn that so many of you love to cook. I'm passionate about eating!

Music, Movies, and Books
My all time favourite entertainer is Tom Waits. Here are some more artists that i love: Pixies, Serge Gainsbourg, Ween, Neil Young, Faith No More. I also enjoy classical music and opera.
The best book i have read in a long time, is "The beauty and the sorrow", by swedish historian Peter Englund. It tells the history of the first world war as experienced by 22 contemporaries from different countries. A stunning documentary!
And favourite movie.. hmm, i think the only movie that i have seen three times, is Ghost Dog. Perhaps that makes it a favourite. Its a good one, anyway.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing travelling experience i have ever had, was swimming alongside a whale shark outside the coast of Mexico. That huge, tranquil creature coming up from immense depth, just to say hello to me ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, as I am a history teacher, I shold know more history than most. But it's a bit scary to make such a claim in an international evironment as this. Certainly, there is A LOT of history that I don't know, and I think most couchsurfers could tell me interesting tings about their own counry or region of the world. But at least I think I would be a good discussion partner in these matters.
