About Me

Hello!

My name is Magnus and I live in a little small village named Trångsviken in the (semi) north part of Sweden with my family Nina (partner in life), Irvin 8, Sigge (soon to be) 8 and Nils (the little one) 2.

I am a student in psychology in Östersund (Mittuniversitet), on my way to a masters degree and becoming a psychologist. I enjoy studying and I feel I have chosen the right field of education because psychology is absorbing, interesting and worth spending lots of time thinking about! I have many interests and I like learning new things that come my way, either by talking, listening or doing. I would even go so far as to say that i am ultracurious, I can find something of interest in most things I hear or do (that are novel)!

Before becoming a full time student I ran my own business for a few years working with a magazine I had started. I have also been working in a few different fields but mostly in sales, both locally and abroad (eg door 2 door meat salesman in Silicon Valley, truck driving bread salesman).

My travelling experiences have been mostly consistent of longer stretches of time living and working abroad. I spent a year in Australia and a few years in the US (roadtripped through 44 states!). Other countrys I have visited is Thailand, Egypt, Turkey, and about 10 or so European countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is wonderful to Couchsurf which I think is the best way to experience a new city, where you instead of feeling like an outsider in a new city and only meeting other travellers, get to experience the city from a locals point of life. Hosting is also great, it is a form of travelling from your own home! My biggest couchsurfing experience was in 2014 through parts of eastern Europe (Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, (Austria), Czechia and it was such an awesome experience!

I look forward to many more experiences, of both surfing and hosting!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some things have had a real impact on my life like ( like becoming a father) and are amazing in a life impacting kind of way. I have also done many things that was amazing at the time, and is a cool memory, like the time I wrote Swedish history by being the first person to streak in Vasaloppet (the worlds oldest and biggest cross country ski race). My bucketlist is quite interesting ;)
